Whether we are celestially influenced by the sun, moon, planets, stars, etc, during FULL MOON we are electrified with emotions. EMOTION= E-motion= Energy in motion Our bodies are made up of mostly water and on an emotional level water connects us to our emotions and intuition. The moon’s strong gravitational pull on water is responsible for causing highs tides. Similarly, the lunar energies work on highlighting or bringing up the emotions we currently carry in our bodies, regardless of the quality of the energy. In simple terms, if we are holding onto dense emotions like anger, frustration, etc., they will be brought to our awareness. Our ancestors were aware of this knowledge and participated in Full Moon Ceremonies and gatherings to honor the wisdom and influences of celestial bodies to heal our physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies. There are many ways to integrate the feelings and emotions that move our body in simple ways that express feelings or release built up energy. For example, yoga, dancing, walking, meditation, chanting, drumming, and things alike that connect the right and the left hemispheres of the brain, helping by reducing the electrical activity and altering the brain waves and balancing our sympathetic and parasympathetic responses. One such great practice that allows the brain to access these states is the art of Yoga Nidra. It is an ancient technique that alters brain waves using a series of breathing exercises, deep relaxation and visualization. Yoga Nidra/yogic sleep is considered to be a state of deep surrender where the consciousness anchors itself between the waking and sleeping state. We have 5 bands of waves (Gamma, Beta, Alpha, Theta, and Delta) that have their own characteristics and attributes representing a certain level of brain activity and the unique state of consciousness. This brain activity is measured in frequencies. Frequency by definition means: "the rate at which a vibration occurs that constitutes a wave, either in a material (as in sound waves), or in an electromagnetic field (as in radio waves and light), usually measured per second." ![]() The first law of thermodynamics states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed; but transferred or changed from one form to another. Thoughts are energy that can change form and manifest into matter by materializing themselves. The astrological chart for this Full Moon presents us with an opportunity to work with our fears and to release them from our subconscious. With immense love and light in my heart, I invite your love and light to my studio this Saturday. Let’s all gather under the moon’s radiant light and relax our bodies and minds with a gentle Yin practice followed by Yoga Nidra. Where: The Original Henna Company
